China Telecom (Africa and Middle East) will oversee market development, network construction, business development and management of subsidiaries in the region. It will also help multinational corporations, and specifically Chinese corporations, to grow their footprint in the region.
CTG has expanded its network capabilities in the UAE, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and Nigeria over the past few years, and the headquarters reinforce its business expansion strategy in the region, the company said.
In March this year, CTG partnered with East African telecoms operator Wananchi Group for the construction of the 428km National Optical Communication Infrastructure in Malawi, and CTG plans to continue with similar expansions and developments this year.
