The operator is initially rolling out the service in Canada’s Greater Toronto Area and London, as well as select Maritime cities including Fredericton, Sydney, Charlottetown and Halifax.
The service will allegedly reach maximum download speeds of 220Mbps, using a combination of high-capacity Band 7 (2600Mhz) spectrum and carrier aggregation between Band 4 (AWS) and Band 2 (PCS).
Bell’s existing LTE network spans 91% of the Canadian population and the company plans to reach 98% by the year end.
Rival player Rogers Communications switched on its first LTE-A coverage zones in October last year.
