MEF is the defining body for Carrier Ethernet (CE), and the 2.0 certification is the industry’s highest technical standard. HKNet said that the accreditation reiterates its commitment to carrier-class Ethernet services in Asia.
“We are seeing tremendous demand for our SecureNet Ethernet services in Asia,” said Patrick Ng, EVP of global network business division at NTT Com Asia.
“The certification assures our customers that our network is of world-class standard and gives them the highest confidence. The tests are challenging and we highly appreciate the professional support our network platform partner Cyan offered throughout the evaluation process.”
HKNet’s SecureNet Ethernet service is delivered over Cyan’s packet-optical transport platform – also MEF CE 2.0 certified – as well as its Blue Planet SDN and NFV orchestration platform.
Nan Chen, president of the MEF, said that if you break down today’s business traffic, Ethernet represents approximately twice as much traffic as all other types combined on a global basis.
“The collaboration between HKNet and Cyan has demonstrated a perfect example of how Carrier Ethernet evolves to meet customers’ needs,” Chen added.
