Sprint reshuffles senior management

US giant Sprint has reshuffled its senior management team with the appointment of new finance, operation and technology chiefs.

Tarek Robbiati is to replace Joseph Euteneuer as CFO, former Telekom Austria Group CTO Günther Ottendorfer is to take on the role of COO, and existing chief network officer at Sprint John Saw has been promoted to CTO.

Robbiati leaves his role as CEO at Australian finance firm FlexiGroup for the position at Sprint, and has also held senior positions at Telstra.

Ottendorfer stepped down from his position at Telekom Austria Group in March this year, and previous roles include those at Optus Singtel in Australia.

As COO, Ottendorfer will lead a technology office responsible for network planning and deployment as well as IT. Newly promoted CTO Saw will report directly into Ottendorfer.

Junichi Miyakawa, technical chief operating officer, has also been promoted to the position of senior technical advisor to CEO Marcelo Claure, and will be tasked with liaising between Sprint and majority stake owner SoftBank.

In May this year, Sprint appointed Kevin Crull as chief marketing officer at the company.
