Entwistle to return as Telus CEO

Telus has announced that president and CEO Joe Natale is leaving the position he held for less than 18 months with immediate effect.

Darren Entwistle, who served as CEO for 14 years, will take over his previous position.

"Mr Natale recently indicated that a move to Western Canada would not work for him and his family for several years and the board determined that the company would be best served by having its chief executive officer reside in the West," said the company.

Natale will serve in an executive, non-board capacity until the end of the year to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Dirck Auchinleck will serve as Telus’ independent chairman. Both Entwistle and Auchinleck have agreed to serve on a long-term basis.

Telus announced a 5.1% growth in Q2 revenue and an addition of 115,000 mobile postpaid, internet and TV customers
