Bridge Alliance appoints chief executive

Bridge Alliance, the mobile association comprising 36 leading operators across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, has appointed Eileen Tan as CEO, effective September 1 2015.

Tan holds more than 15 years’ experience in the telecoms sector, and joins Bridge Alliance from her role as director of business planning, strategy and alliance partnerships, international group, at Singtel.

Alessandro Adriani is stepping down from the role of chief executive at Bridge Alliance, during which time he grew the number of telco members from 11 to 36. Tan will be responsible for expanding the business both regionally and globally.

“As the alliance continues to develop, the board and I are confident that Eileen is the right person to lead the business forward,” said Mark Chong, chairman of the Bridge Alliance board of directors.

“Eileen is a proven leader with strategic business vision and the ability to spearhead various mobility services needed for the alliance. We believe that her strengths and understanding of the telco industry will help Bridge Alliance achieve new growth.”

With the increasing demand for M2M, enterprise mobility and cost effective roaming services, the alliance said that Tan will play a key role in developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of customers in the alliance footprint.

In February this year, Bridge Alliance deployed Ericsson’s device connectivity platform (DCP) solution to manage IoT services for its members.
