Superloop launches Project Red Lion

Superloop’s board of directors has approved the initial phase of Project Red Lion; an initiative designed to extend the company’s network to commercial buildings in Singapore.

The project is said to be the next logical expansion for Superloop to extend its existing core network between Singapore’s largest data centres and cable landing stations.

“Project Red Lion will bring on-net buildings that accommodate some of the largest corporate and enterprise customers in the country,” said Daniel Abrahams, Superloop CEO.

“The first phase of Red Lion will expand our network into more than 25 strategic commercial buildings that provide Superloop and its channel partners, as part of its upcoming channel partner program, with access to the regional headquarters of a number of multinational enterprises, among other potential customers.”

The expansion builds on Superloop’s core network and proximity to technology hubs in Singapore, and has an incremental capital investment of less than AUD $2 million.

The additional capital investment will be funded from the company’s cash reserves.

The company also added that it expects the initial Singapore and Australian networks to be completed by the end of Q3 2015.

Earlier this month, Superloop secured a unified carrier licence (UCL) from the office of the communications authority in Hong Kong
