AMS-IX appoints CFO

Dutch internet exchange AMS-IX has appointed Saskia Poelman as its chief financial officer.

Poelman joins AMS-IX from her position as global transition lead at AkzoNobel, and holds more than 17 years’ experience in both financial and managerial positions at firms such as Deloitte, BDO and Heineken.

AMS-IX is experiencing strong growth, with 60 parties added to its peering platform in the first half of 2015, and Poelman said that neutrality and independence are the founding principles on which AMS-IX was built.

“The organisation has a strong growth ambition, is built upon a non-profit model and is independent from third parties or the government,” Poelman said.

“These values and characteristics made AMS-IX really appealing to me and I am looking forward to making my contribution to this as CFO.”

AMS-IX CEO Job Witteman said that he was happy to welcome Poelman to the team.

“Saskia brings with her extensive knowledge and experience that will make an important contribution to keeping our organisation financially sound, so that we can continue the growth of recent years,” he added.
