As part of the deal, HTN will manage up to 702 sites owned by SWAP spanning Lagos, Abuja and 32 other states in Nigeria.
“The agreement provides the platform to expand the number of towers we manage by up to 58% and increases our coverage across Nigeria. It is also a further vote of confidence in the strength and quality of HTN Towers’ operations and customer service,” said Inder Bajaj, CEO of HTN Towers.
HTN Towers has begun operations on the first 100 SWAP sites and will take over the management of the remaining sites in a phased manner, depending on customer consents.
The independent tower operator added that the sites will be refurbished with the aim to offer them for co-location in future.
In addition HTN Towers will contract directly with SWAP’s customers under the terms in its existing customer tenancy agreements as well as earn additional revenues from co-locating customers.
Upon completion of the transfer of towers, HTN Towers will own and manage up to 1905 towers, an increase of 58% from its present portfolio.
