Named MDX-i Cloud Services, the solution is designed to meet the needs of enterprise customers across West Africa from MDX-i’s Tier 3 data centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
It is built on Microsoft Azure’s enterprise grade infrastructure which enables businesses to access private cloud environments on a pay-as-you-go basis, and is combined with MDX-i’s infrastructure-as-as-service (IaaS) platform.
“Businesses are beginning to embrace cloud services because it promises increased agility in addition to savings in OPEX and CAPEX,” said Rob Lever, business development executive at MDX-i, at a press conference.
“Our IaaS platform reduces complexity, interoperability and security concerns of our customers. It provides them the benefit of leveraging our infrastructure, and the expertise of MDX-i and Microsoft, without their having to incur the substantial costs associated with deploying such solutions.”
This is MDX-i’s first partnership with Microsoft, and over time, MDX-i expects to offer a full set of integrated IT solutions, including PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service) and BaaS (Backup as a Service).
