Huawei Video Aggregation Platform to launch in Europe

Huawei has today revealed that it will launch its Video Aggregation Platform in Europe before the end of the year, following successful launches in the Middle East and China.

The service is designed to provide regional and international video content and applications, and will reach end users either via Huawei’s distribution channel or those of its telco partners.

“To test market reaction in Europe, we are planning to launch the service phase by phase,” said Yiming Cao, VP of carrier software at Huawei.

“In the initial stage, we will focus on OTT Video, the app being available on IoS and Android smart phones, offering excellent experience to meet European users’ needs.”

A Smart Video Cloud Europe centre has been set up in the UK, dedicated to the building of a European digital video eco-system, with the cooperation of Huawei’s local and global partners.

Huawei hopes that this will enable European telcos to develop their video services to better compete globally.
