The Dutch internet exchange claims to be the first in the world to offer this service to its resellers, and it is designed to reduce the dependency on human intervention as well as shorten lead times.
“AMS-IX already has a long-term strategy of enabling any connected party to manage their connections in the most optimal and flexible manner,” said Mark Cooper, CCO at AMS-IX.
“The introduction of an API to our customer portal for resellers is in line with this strategy.”
AMS-IX will initiate a phased roll-out of the API during the remainder of 2015.
