The move is said to extend the company’s coverage across the US. The network connects teleports in Brewster, Washington and Vernon Valley, New Jersey to PoPs across the US, including Ashburn, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Spokane and Wenatchee.
“Through this network enhancement, we can deliver seamless connectivity to customers in the US as well as interconnectivity to international under-sea fibre carriers at our Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City and Ashburn, Virginia PoPs,” said Jim Veeder, CEO at USEI.
The fibre network is said to allow USEI to transport SONET, Carrier Ethernet and MPLS traffic between all network nodes. It claims to minimise additional time and expense to customers ordering network connectivity between any network nodes and provides direct connectivity to USEI teleports via a single POP cross-connect.
