The operators will work together on enhancing roaming cooperation and data services and developing business opportunities in innovation areas such as the internet of things, data analytics, content and cybersecurity.
StarHub’s CEO Tan Tong Hai said the partnership is timely as China embarks on its ‘One Belt, One Road’ strategy to revive two Silk Road trading routes.
"China embarks on its 'One Belt, One Road' journey, and Singapore is well-positioned to facilitate this journey," said Tan. "We will work closely to give our mobile customers a seamless cross-border user experience."
The partnerships are part of China Mobile’s expansion of its ‘hand-in-hand programme’, an international framework which it launched in 2015.
