SCT has again pushed back the project, which had an initial launch date of 2014, by a month for bids from August 8 to begin on September 8, 2016.
The Mexican ministry extended the bidding process due to the volume and the complexity of applications received by potential participants, which includes potential bidders need more time to form consortia, a published SCT document stated. The date for deciding the tender winners has also been delayed to September 28, 2016.
To date, 20 companies are reported to have voiced interest or purchased bidding rules for the tender.
