Console and DE-CIX partner to deliver global enterprise cloud access

The partnership enables over 800 networks in DE-CIXs peering and interconnection ecosystem to gain secure and simple access to leading cloud services such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and the Google Cloud Platform, as well as software-as-a-service (SaaS) providers and enterprises around the world using the Console platform, without the configuration complexity of interconnection.

“A key part of our strategic vision is to broaden the range of companies and industries reachable over our platform,” commented Al Burgio, Console’s Founder and CEO. “Working with a leading industry player like DE-CIX expands our ability to drive next generation interconnection around the world.”

Burgio told Capacity at ITW 2016 that finding a better way to interconnect workloads, applications and data is essential in the digital era. He added: “The Console platform extracts all of the Layer 2 and Layer 3 configuration complexity for the enterprise to connect its network privately and directly to others. Console was designed to also be a fully functional social networking platform, so that enterprise customers are able to collaborate directly within our app.”

An enterprise user can “follow" individual users as well as companies, in addition to requesting direct network connections that bypass the public Internet. Individual and enterprise users are also able to contribute content, such as articles and posts, to the platform, as users can on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Console, which states that it is “changing the way businesses directly connect to their customers, vendors and partners”, recently made its platform generally available. The platform enables any-to-any collaboration globally, for clouds, networks and enterprises. It provides enhanced network security, improved performance and faster business-to-business direct connections.

The partnership will start initially with services via the DE-CIX exchanges in Frankfurt and New York, with additional locations to be announced.
