The Philippines operator can now leverage GTT’s global Tier 1 IP network and its suites of services, which includes Ethernet, MPLS and VPLS. GTT will provide PLDT with managed services, including multi-layered security services and full network management and monitoring.
“Our partnership with GTT enables us to strengthen our capabilities in support of our enterprise customers, allowing them to leverage the cloud to create more avenues for business growth,” said Jovy Hernandez, FVP and head of PLDT ALPHA.
“It is also reflective of our commitment to help enterprises broaden their perspectives and change the way they do business, by constantly looking for new opportunities to enhance their operational processes or connect with their market.”
Collaborating with PLDT enables GTT to enhance its reach in the Philippines and Southeast Asia with IP, Ethernet and MPLS services. This enhanced presence aligns with GTT’s recent expansion in the region, including the addition of services at its node in Sydney, Australia.
GTT president and CEO, Rick Calder, added: “We are pleased to support PLDT in the US and Europe to expand its service offerings and provide broader network reach. In turn, GTT is now well-positioned to support its multinational clients in the Southeast Asia region through PLDT’s deep regional footprint.”
The announcement comes after PLDT connected to NTT Com’s 100Gbps backbone in order to improve internet speeds for consumer and enterprise customers earlier this month and GTT recently reported year-on-year revenue growth to $128.9 million.
