Mohamed Abdel Bassit, who was BICS’s managing director for the Middle East and North Africa, will be vice president of operations at GBI.
Amr Eid, acting CEO and CCO of GBI, said: “Mohamed’s appointment comes after GBI’s successful transition into a global service provider. His proven industry track record and operational leadership will build on our core business plans.”
Abdel Bassit said: “I am enthusiastic about joining such an innovative company that has established new business models and evolved into a global cloud and managed services player within a short span of time. I look forward to becoming a part of GBI’s future growth.”
He was formerly the mobile business director at BICS, where he contributed to position the company in voice roaming and mobile data. He holds a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Cairo University.
