The French internet exchange has 340 networks will be able to subscribe directly to Orange Wholesale France’s IP connectivity services within days by configuring an additional virtual local area network (vLAN).
France-IX has nine points of presence (PoPs) in Paris and two in Marseille, meaning customers in those PoPs can interconnect with Orange for flat-fee or pay-per-use basis.
France-IX launched its marketplace with Orange International Carriers in April 2016, but this latest agreement allows direct interconnection with Orange’s French wholesale operations.
"Our aim is to bring together the biggest number of Internet networks in France, of all sizes and from all business sectors," explains Simon Muyal, CTO at France-IX.
“Today, in our outlook for the France-IX community, we have reached a major turning point by providing them with direct access to the Orange France network with no technical prerequisites or business intermediaries. We are convinced that this offer will give our members in Paris and Marseille a huge competitive edge."
In Paris, the offering is available in a number of sites: Interxion PAR1, PAR2 and PAR5, Iliad DC2 and DC3, Telehouse 2 and 3, and Equinix Telecity PA6 and PA7.
