VHA has filed for a judicial review after the ACCC dismissed its proposals to use Telstra’s network, as part of a national wholesale roaming agreement, to reach areas of Australia where it has no network.
Last month ACCC said it would not declare a wholesale roaming service in Australia, leading VHA to lodge its complaint with the Federal Court.
“Australian mobile phone users will continue to pay too much and suffer poor coverage in regional areas” as a result of the ACCC’s draft decision, the telco said in a statement.
“We do not believe the process has been carried out properly because a specific domestic roaming service has not been defined by the ACCC.”
