Infomart doubles Dallas BMMR capacity

Infomart, the US wholesale data centre provider, has announced that it is doubling the capacity of its carrier-neutral building meet-me room (BMMR) in Dallas.

The upgrade in infrastructure comes as the company prepares for future carrier installations. The BMMR was launched in 2015 and since then has seen quick adoption from carriers, ISP’s and cloud providers, which is also driving the expansion.

“The provider and service diversity within BMMR and Infomart-operated wholesale suites makes Infomart Dallas the ideal option in the region for linking to communication systems both nationally and globally,” said John Sheputis, president of Infomart Data Centers.

The newest additions to the facility are Verizon and the cloud service provider ServedBy the Net, which have established points of presence in the hub’s BMMR.

Connecting in Infomart’s Dallas hub means customers can access as many as a dozen international and domestic carriers, ISPs, colocation and content providers – in addition to the DE-CIX Dallas exchange, and next generation SDN-based cloud networking services.

“For companies with latency-sensitive applications or that are deploying hybrid cloud, proximity and connectivity have become business-critical,” added Sheputis.

Earlier this year Infomart partnered with PacketFabric to bring the latter’s SDN-based network platform to its Dallas and Portland data centres. Giving Infomart customers access to instantaneous, direct and secure provisioning of terabit-scale connectivity between any two or more locations on the PacketFabric network.
