The international services arm of TIM Group, which made the announcement today, said the certification recognises the capability of the design project of the new data centre to support any planned work on site without disrupting operation in any way and therefore represents a very important milestone for the construction of the new data centre.
Metamorfosis-2 will be a 5,900 sq m data centre adjacent and connected to the existing Metamorfosis-1 and responds to the ever increasing demand for colocation and cloud services in Greece.
Metamorfosis-2 is designed with the latest cooling technologies and electrical systems featuring a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2, one of the lowest in the data centre industry.
Next step before construction phase begins is the Green Building Stand Certification (LEED) expected later this month.
