The news means that UK-based Virtus is now a part of the STT GDC network that comprises of 50 top-tier data centres in markets including China, India and Singapore.

Through this acquisition, we hope to further cement our footprint in the UK, as well as accelerate growth for both STT GDC and Virtus.”
The strategic investment on the part of STT GDC means that Virtus is well placed to deliver on its plans for growth in the UK. In addition, Virtus will able to tap into STT GDC’s resources and expertise for expansion and global customer acquisition purposes.

STT GDC first invested in Virtus in 2015 with a 49% stake in the company. Since then Virtus has grown from operating two data centres to a colocation platform that operates four high quality facilities. Virtus recently announced its plans to open two new adjacent facilities near Stockley Park to form London’s largest data centre campus.
