Zeetta Networks has been engaged with INCA throughout 2017 by actively participating at INCA’s events and working groups and it will continue to do so in 2018 as part of INCA’s board.
“This industry recognition of Vassilis’ personal contribution to INCA’s work is matched by Zeetta Networks’ leading expertise in developing and deploying network slicing and virtualisation solutions across the UK and the rest of the world,” read a company statement.
Seferidis’ appointment comes at a critical time as fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks are desperately needed to support the growth of both fixed wireless and mobile wireless services.
“Being elected the board of INCA is further recognition of the importance of Zeetta Networks’ technology for the independent FTTP networks as they try to aggregate and coordinate the emerging patchwork of regional and local networks in order to compete more efficiently at national level,” said Seferidis.
“I am pleased to offer our expertise to the INCA community and to actively participate in proof-of-concept projects and trials with other INCA members towards building Gigabit Britain”.
INCA advocates that only the deployment of pure fibre infrastructure, supporting vastly greater speeds, more symmetry upstream as well as down, and lower latency than copper or hybrid networks, will support the UK’s growing broadband needs.
Commenting on the appointment, David Cullen, chair of the Board at INCA, added: “Vassilis’ support, both as a speaker and as a leader of the innovative SME Zeetta Networks, has been invaluable to INCA as we have highlighted the challenges and opportunities that 5G and full fibre networks present. We all look forward to his and Zeetta Networks’ contributions in 2018 and beyond as a trusted INCA Board member.”
