The new service will see extend Aldea’s global network into the EMEA region, allowing its media customers access to the firm’s coverage throughout the Americas and Europe.
It will see Aldea’s services become available at video hub within strategically located data centres in Milan and Palermo, Istanbul, and Sofia, supporting all relevant video formats and encoding standards.
Aldea offers deep rooted experience delivering high quality, ultra-low latency video services for the transmission of live sports, news and other media over fibre networks. It has supported several major events, providing video managed solutions used at the Olympics and the football World Cup.
Together, Aldea and Sparkle’s solution means partners can gain access to a multitude of rich video media content, including major sporting events, as well as streaming and distribution to multichannel platforms such as DTT, DTH, and OTT.
The joint media transport solution aims to offer media players such as broadcasters, content providers, and distribution networks, top performance and global coverage. It will be underpinned by Sparkle’s network, which spans more than 560,000km overall, with customers located in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
