Situated at the 1025Connect data centre in Long Island, New York, and the NJFX Tier 3 colocation campus in Wall, New Jersey comprising the “Continental Edge”.
Commenting on the news, Jerzy Szlosarek, CEO of Epsilon, said: “The strategic positioning of its U.S. interconnect hub enables Epsilon to provide customers with high-speed international connectivity as well as access to a wide range of cloud and IX providers. We are excited to enter into this next phase of development and to unlock the geographic advantages that 1025Connect and NJFX offer.”
At these new interconnection points Epsilon will deploy its on-demand connectivity platform called Infiny establishing what the company is calling “the easternmost SDN exchange in the USA”.
Using the new interconnection points, Epsilon will offer internet service providers with access to Internet exchange (IX) peering, cloud, content, local networks and submarine cable systems directly from within 1025Connect and NJFX.
With Infiny available at the “Continental Edge” Epsilon provides offers access to a number of subsea cable providers, enabling connectivity between Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America, in addition to Epsilon’s North American network and colocation facilities.
At present Epsilon is interconnected with the Aqua Comms AEConnect cable system and will further diversify its submarine connectivity options from 1025Connect and NJFX. Operators will also benefit from direct connections to leading cloud and IX providers, as well as a wide range of peering solutions via Ix provider DE-CIX North America.
Epsilon also offers on-demand Ethernet and wavelength services into leading Manhattan interconnect hubs with 10G and 100G wavelength services. The company will create two diverse routes from its point of presence (PoP) at 1025Connect into Manhattan, including one that bypasses congested and costly fibre paths. This coupled with its ability to provide carriers with alternative routes for transatlantic and Latin American traffic to and from the US, without touching New York provides a more competitive and redundant international connectivity solution optimised for the cloud generation.
Earlier this month the company launched its global channel partner programme giving its managed service partners access to a suite of cloud-centric network services. The partner programme enables service providers to monetise connectivity, voice, colocation and professional services.
