Under the terms of the agreement the two will collaborate on technology designed to advance communications infrastructure to support a new generation of services and applications for hyperscale data centres, 5G, high-speed cloud and industrial internet and IoT.
“We are pleased to be teaming with the ICT leader in China, New H3C. Like Coriant, New H3C passionately believes in delivering disruptive innovation to deliver step-function results to its customers,” said Shaygan Kheradpir, CEO and chairman of Coriant.
The collaboration between the two will leverage Coriant’ Hyperscale Carrier Architecture (HCA) solutions in packet-optical networking, and H3C’s suite of ICT solutions for enterprise and service provider customers in China.
Speaking on the agreement, Yu Yingtao, president and CEO of New H3C Group, said: “An open, scalable, and software-defined approach to network transformation plays a critical role in delivering agile and efficient digital solutions for today’s enterprises. We look forward to leveraging Coriant’s thought leadership in these areas and working closely with them to explore a wide variety of advanced communications technologies that will benefit our customers.”
Coriant recently named Vikram Shanbhag as its new managing director for Asia Pacific South. In his new role Shanbhag will be responsible for overseeing operations, business development and sales in the region, which includes India.
With over 27 years’ worth of experience in the telecoms and technology sector, Shanbhag comes to Coriant from Teya Ventures having previously worked at such places as FixStream Networks and Comviva Technologies.
"We are excited to welcome Vikram to Coriant’s leadership team as we continue to focus on delivering next-generation communications technologies to customers in one the world’s fastest growing telecom markets," said Homayoun Razavi, Coriant’s chief customer officer.
