Opus Interactive completes 90kW expansion in Infomart's Portland facility

Opus Interactive, a provider of cloud hosting solutions, has completed a 90kW expansion of its footprint within Infomart Data Centers’ facility in Portland, Oregon.

The expansion supports Opus’ year-on-year growth largely driven by growing customer demand for distributed data processing, retail colocation and cloud solutions in the region.

“We’re proud to say we’ve been the retail provider at Infomart’s Hillsboro facility for five years, and we’re excited to be expanding our footprint once again.  The Opus team has spent over 20 years honing a mix of purpose-built cloud and colocation solutions that we deliver from state-of-the-art facilities,” said Shannon Hulbert, CEO of Opus Interactive. “The expansion enables us to continue the 25% year-on-year growth trajectory we’re on, and allows us to offer our customers space inside a world-class facility that delivers not only reliable power and 24x7 security, but also unprecedented levels of efficiency and sustainability.”

Infomart Portland boasts a 99% efficient Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.16 in full economisation mode, 100% aisle containment and natural cooling methods to run the facility at least 70% of the year. The company also claims that it is the first data centre in Oregon and among a few in the US to become LEED Platinum certified, and holds Uptime Institute’s Efficient IT Certification and Management & Operations “Stamp of Approval.”

“Opus Interactive’s latest expansion within Infomart Portland is a testament to Infomart’s service mindset as well as the region’s continued growth, largely thanks to its renewable and cost-effective power access, tax incentives, technical workforce, and ascending position as the new ‘digital gateway’ to Asia Pacific. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Opus and serving as the company’s trusted wholesale data center partner as they embark on their next stage of growth,” added John Sheputis, president of Infomart Data Centers.

In January of this year, Infomart named Dan Ephraim as its vice president of sales and is responsible for providing national leadership for the company’s sales team while reporting out of Infomart's new Ashburn, Virginia, data centre.
