By extending the connectivity centres near Inzai Data Centre district; enterprises, financial organisations and cloud service providers are able to meet the growing needs of its customer and help them create new opportunities.
The district is designed to withstand earthquakes, ensuring mission critical coverage and disaster recovery in spite of natural disasters.

The decision to extend its network in Japan is an important part of Colt’s strategy to ensure a strong presence in the top 100Gbps cities in the world. Only last year, Colt launched its on demand service in Japan underpinning its position as a provider of intelligent connectivity solutions. Additionally in 2017 the company launched its Nagoya Metro Area Network (MAN), increasing the number of MANs on Colt’s footprint to 50.
“In addition, Colt’s On Demand services, powered by the Colt IQ Network, provides agility to our customers in controlling their networks,” added Hioki.
”The need for high-bandwidth in the region is predicted to grow, particularly from cloud providers who are looking for not only high-bandwidth services but SDN-enabled connectivity solutions as well. According to the Cisco Global Cloud Index: Forecast and Methodology, 2016-2021; data centre based traffic is expected to nearly double by the end of the decade, growing from 11.6 zettabytes in 2017 to 20.6 zettabytes in 2021, with the cloud accounting for 95% of this traffic.
Last month Colt named Level 3 senior vice president Andrew Edison as its new vice president of wholesale. Edison enters the role with over 25 year experience in sales, business operations, global and go to market strategies. And for Colt he will focus on bolstering the company’s wholesale strategy.
