“We are excited to expand our SD-WAN capability to the Philippines by partnering with PLDT, the country’s market leader in fixed, wireless, and information communication technology,” said Joe Zhu, CEO and founder of Zenlayer. This is a great opportunity for us to serve more customers in Southeast Asia, one of the fastest growing Internet regions in the world.”
The new offering will be made available to the Philippines-based ICT and digital services providers' global enterprises by Q2 of 2018, leveraging technologies and solutions by Zenlayer, the software defined network and services provider.
This collaboration with Zenlayer is a monumental step forward in providing our customers with a dynamic bandwidth solution that allows them to connect and sync applications and workloads with other global offices and data centres. There has been a huge demand for international inter-office and inter-cloud connectivity, and this partnership has allowed us to further broaden our capacity to fill that need,” said Jojo Gendrano, vice president & head of PLDT Enterprise core business solutions “Enterprises need to be strategic, agile, and adaptive to achieve business resiliency, and we can provide the necessary tools to get them there.”
The two companies say that the partnership is set to bring near instant provisioning of dedicated, low-latency wide area networks that are scalable, reliable and burstable. SD-WAN as an offering interconnects enterprise networks, data centres, and clouds, enabling customers to be agile despite geographical distances via a powerful and secure cloud platform.
Back in February, PLDT joined a consotimum of telecoms carriers, which included LG Uplus, Etisalat, KT and Telefónica, to support the Carrier Blockchain Study Group (CBSG), the global blockchain consortium of telecom carriers. The partnership is to explore how to collaborate on building a global next-gen cross-carrier blockchain platform and ecosystem.
