The partnership will accelerate the availability of 450MHz network-based 4G LTE network connection devices as well as explore the development of internet of things (IoT) in Indonesia.
“Currently, Net1 Indonesia has provided 450MHz based devices. Our partnership with Qualcomm will sharpen our solution to provide the prime service with affordable prices for our customers,” said Larry Ridwan, chief executive officer of Net1 Indonesia, the 4G LTE mobile data broadband provider.
Net1 Indonesia realises its incompetency in providing 450MHz supporting devices, while at the same time, Net1 is continuously expanding the coverage as well as increasing the number of customers, thus Net1 needs the suitable business partners to fulfill the business development demands.
“We continue to accelerate the mobile industry and beyond and the project with Net1 is very valuable particularly to provide the telecommunications services in remote and rural areas offering connectivity and accessibility for better mobile user experience,” said Shannedy Ong, country manager of Qualcomm Indonesia.

Ridwan added: “We aim to provide Net1 Indonesia’s business our full co-operation in producing 4G LTE devices that support 450MHz frequency, to avoid overlapped and business exclusivity in order to encouraging the development of mobile data and IoT ecosystems in Indonesia.”
The news comes after Net1 Indonesia was quick to respond to the earthquake in LombokIsltan, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) by donating 100 free Wifi devices to be distributed and installed in several refugee evacuation areas.
