In a report by Light Reading, Hussain is set to be replaced by Andrew Dugan, the former CTO of Level 3 Communications. Hussain joined the company in 2014 and appeared to survive the cull at the new combined entity.
Dugan spent more than 19 years at Level 3, holding a number of leadership positions with the company, before becoming CTO in 2016. Since November 2017, he has served as SVP of network technology development at CenturyLink.
Since CenturyLink acquired Level 3 Communications a year ago, a number of its executives have been entering c-level roles at the newly acquired company.
Earlier this month, Neel Dev, the previous group vice president of finance at Level 3 was named as the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. Dev spent roughly 13 years with Level 3, and has a total of approximately 20 years in the telecoms industry as a whole.
"NeeI's extensive telecommunications experience has prepared him well to serve as CenturyLink's next CFO. He and I have worked closely together for many years and I am highly confident in his ability to successfully lead our finance organization," said Jeff Storey, president and chief executive officer of CenturyLink. "As our new CFO, I know Neel will continue to drive financial discipline across our company, focused on operational efficiency and enabling profitable revenue and Adjusted EBITDA growth."
Additionally, Storey another former Level 3 executive was named as the new CEO and president of CenturyLink, taking over from Glenn Post.
