The agreement includes a fully redundant 100Gbps IPX interconnection, delivered at four different locations, which supports DCH, data roaming, SCCP, international messaging and LTE services. It means all services will be deployed over two diversified 100G links, helping Telefonica Deutschland meet growing demand for traffic which has increased twofold year-on-year.
The partnership will also see both organisations jointly collaborate on the development of new roaming services aimed at boosting Telefonica Deutschland customer’s experience whilst abroad.
Alfons Lösing, member of the Management Board and Chief Partner & Business Officer of Telefónica Deutschland, commented: “This agreement ensures Telefónica Deutschland’s ability to deliver roaming services for our customers across the German Market both today and into the future and recognises the continued outstanding service delivered by TIWS.”
Among the more recently launched services that Telefónica Deutschland plans to offer is TIWS’s Marketing Campaigns Manager, which was launched earlier this year. The solution allows mobile operators to enhance the user experience of its customers with location, time relevant and personalised content at any time.
Telefónica Deutschland will be able to leverage MCM to target roamers based on their specific customer segment to market customised and relevant offers.
TIWS already supports Telefónica Deutschland in a number of services, including signalling, international voice termination, messaging, data services among and others. The wholesale arm recently announced its first 200 Gigabit Ethernet redundant data roaming interconnection is now ready for service.
Juan Carlos Bernal (pictured), CEO of Telefónica’s International Wholesale Business, said: “TIWS is fully committed to providing high quality value added services to Telefónica Deutschland, other Telefónica operating businesses and to third party operators, to enhance their customer experience.”
