The new service combines the scale and diversity of Telstra’s subsea network with the flexible programmable infrastructure technology through Ciena’s GeoMesh Extreme solution. As a result, Telstra’s assured availability, which offers service restoration within eight hours, is now reduced from hours down to minutes.
“Through Telstra’s large subsea cable footprint and Ciena’s innovative technology, we are able to help remove the pain of an extended outage from our customers, with almost seamless restoration of their services,” added Melic.
With Ericsson, Ciena’s GeoMesh Extreme solution improves the intelligence of Telstra’s subsea network, enabling quick automated responses to changing network demands, without manual intervention. In addition, the solution offers increased visibility of the network, improving resiliency and provides flexibility, agility to give customers quick, and reliable data access.
