The new PoP is at the AT TOKYO Premium Colocation Space, one of the largest of its kind in Tokyo, offering secure colocation services to carrier clients. It joins Avelacom’s existing PoP’s in Tokyo that are located at Equinix’s TY3 and at AT Tokyo’s CC1 facility.
Avelacom said it had seen nearly double-digit growth in new business volumes originating in the APAC region, driven by clients looking for professional-grade connectivity services across APAC, Europe and the USA.
The network service provider, which specialises in low latency connectivity, chose to deploy this new PoP to meet the demands of the global financial sector, in order to offer a comprehensive portfolio of services to companies looking to access Japan’s stock, commodity, FX, crypto and derivative markets where latency is particularly sensitive.
In November 2018 Avelacom announced the launch of the lowest latency connectivity between London and Tokyo, and the opening of its new office in Singapore.
"Our clients keep asking us to expand our presence in Tokyo, as they desire professional-grade services capable of supporting multi-asset trading in Japanese markets. With our new PoP in the AT TOKYO Premium Colocation Space we add more capabilities for low latency sensitive clients,” said Aleksey Larichev, Avelacom’s managing director.
