The Manchester, England, based company first began offering services at Iron Mountain’s Scottsdale facility in 2016, and IX Reach claims to have seen strong customer demand at the site. This has led the company to install its own hardware into the Arizona data centre, bringing it on-net as a fully-enabled IX Reach location.
The upgrade means that IX Reach will be able to offer its full suite of cloud and connectivity services on the Iron Mountain Phoenix metro-connected campus, which houses three data centres in more than one million square foot of colocation space.
“At Iron Mountain, we are focused on delivering the best colocation experience possible for our 1,200-plus data centre customers worldwide,” commented Rick Crutchley, vice president of Iron Mountain data centres, North America.
“This includes providing efficient access to the clouds, carriers, and IT services our customers need to thrive in a multi-cloud world. Having IX Reach in our Scottsdale data centre is an important part of this commitment as it delivers more network services options and increases the efficiency of customer hybrid IT implementations.”
IX Reach will now be able to provide its SDN Cloud connectivity services to Iron Mountain’s Phoenix colocation customers, along with remote peering and transport connectivity through a single cross connect.
It is part of a continued investment by IX Reach into its core infrastructure that has seen the company now offer more than 170 network PoPs worldwide, supporting increasing data usage driven by the growth of video streaming, content delivery, the internet of things and big data. Earlier this year, it announced a partnership with Djibouti Data Center (DDC) for connectivity in West Africa. It also expanded its partnership with AMS-IX in India to offer broader connectivity options.
“We are thrilled to have added the exciting and fast-growing city of Scottsdale as a fully on-net enabled location to our global network – not just because it gives our customers another option for connectivity, but it also further strengthens our relationship with Iron Mountain,” said Simon Vye, CEO at IX Reach.
“Iron Mountain is one of the top global providers of data centres and colocation and has been protecting important assets for more than 225,000 customers since 1951. Our companies share a vision to foster long-term customer relationships through integrity, reliability and trust.”
