In his new role, Glynn will lead the team delivering automated connectivity through the Console Connect software-defined interconnect platform, driving real partnerships into the ecosystem of data centres. SaaS providers, cloud and carriers connected by PCCW Global’s network.
“Automation is key for any provider competing into today’s digital world,” said Glynn. “Their future lies in accessing self-provisioning bandwidth on-demand to enterprise, carriers, storage, IoT and their SaaS platforms.”
Throughout his career, Glynn has worked for number telecoms players. Most notably, he was a founding member of Megaport, Superloop and ActivePort, in addition to holding senior sales roles with the likes of Pacnet, Vocus and Pipe Networks.
“PCCW Global already owns and operates one of the largest MPLS networks in the world, which spans nearly 3000 cities in 150 countries,” added Glynn. “Offering a real-time, on-demand provisioning platform over top of this network is an enormous benefit for our customers and partners. With Console Connect they can easily and quickly spin up virtual circuits, Layer 2 and Layer 3, regardless of their location or technical knowledge, to bypass the public internet and directly connect to their cloud applications, SaaS, LoT partners and business locations.”
The company is investing heavily in its people as it shifts to digital business and the rapid growth in cloud workloads. Glynn’s experience in building productive partnerships will bring added value to the growing Console Connect network, opening up new markets for regional networks and delivering seamless connectivity to their customers.
“Today Console Connect is in around 80 data centres globally and growing each day. We have more than 100 networks integrated live on the network and bi-lateral relationships with many more,” said Michael. “The opportunity for expansion is huge. Everything in the past and future of PCCW Global is built on great partnerships, this will continue as we build one of the largest SDN interconnect platforms globally,” continued Glynn.
