Qatar’s organisations are increasingly adopting cloud services to optimise costs, drive business agility and scale up innovation as they grow. In response to this trend Ooredoo’s Cloud Connect solution enables business customers to establish managed cloud connectivity from their local data centre to global cloud service providers.
“Our partnership with Colt provides our business customers with greater cloud choice and reliability, said Yousuf Abdulla al Kubaisi, chief operating officer, Ooredoo Qatar. “Our Ooredoo Cloud Connect provides secure cloud connectivity to enable real-time decision-making for digital transformation. Business customers can offload their cloud management to Ooredoo, so IT staff can focus on business innovation.”
Ooredoo’s Cloud Connect also enables business customers to subscribe to backup and disaster recovery orchestration. In the hybrid cloud, Ooredoo’s Cloud Connect customers can also include emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data and data lakes.
As a result of the partnership, Ooredoo Cloud Connect services now connect to Colt’s IQ Network. In turn, the Colt IQ Network connects to more than 850 data centres and 27,500 on net buildings globally.
“Many businesses are now turning to the cloud to drive their next wave of growth,” added Andrew Edison, vice president of wholesale for Colt Technology Services. “This partnership with Ooredoo sees organisations being able to benefit from the global reach and density of the Colt IQ Network as well as the top cloud environments globally. We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Ooredoo.”
In February, Ooredoo Oman partnered with Akamai to offer upgraded levels of online protection over mobile and fixed networks. The advanced network-based solution will further enhance security by blocking access to unsafe sites, in addition to protect against malicious, phishing and ransomware attacks.
