Ciena’s 5170 service aggregation platform was chosen by Windstream to support both applications, offering optimal density and extensive range.

As data centre and end-user applications continue to grow, bandwidth demand continues to multiply. In response, the new platform will enable enhanced areas of business in wholesale, enterprise, carrier Ethernet access, and fibre-to-the tower mobile back-haul services to support bandwidth upgrades.

Earlier this month, Windstream Enterprise introduced a suite of local area network (LAN) services designed to enhance customer experience, improve employee productivity and gather analytics for rich business intelligence. The new offering comes with the added convenience of working with a single provider to reduce complexity and strain in IT resources.
