Earlier this month Telefónica entered into an agreement with Asterion Industrial Partners for the sale of 11 data centres at a cost of €550 million.
The transaction, which will close in approximately two months, is expected to generate capital gains before taxes and controlling interests of around €260 million. The deal follows a number of transactions on the part of Telefónica over the last few months.
Back in April the company was reportedly close to selling its Chile data centre for $700 million, before that in February Telefónica entered into an agreement with Millicom for the sale of partial and whole parts of Telefónica Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua. While in January, the company also sold its Guatemala and El Salvador business units to América Móvil for €570 million.
