GBI accelerates its transformation with four key hires

Gulf Bridge International (GBI) has appointed Jim Clarke as its new chief commercial officer (CCO), Gavin Rea as its chief technical officer (CTO), Joseph Jabakhanji as its head of sales, and Ergin Kilinc as director of enterprise sales and business development.

Clarke joins GBI from Telstra where he was director for global connectivity and networks. In his new role, he is responsible for the execution of both the wholesale and enterprise sales strategy and the leadership of GBI’s commercial activities.

Rea joins GBI after 17 years at BT, where he was head of the subsea centre of excellence. He brings a depth of experience in design, implementation, operation and maintenance of subsea cable networks to his role as CTO.

These appointments bring new expertise and experience to our team and a proven ability to execute for customers and partners,” said Cengiz Oztelcan, CEO at GBI. “I will be working closely with the team to simplify and accelerate how we engage and serve our customer and prospects to ensure they have the best possible experience end-to-end.”

While Jabakhanji joins GBI from Tata Communications where he was director of sales – MENA. He is a veteran in the MENA telecoms industry and has a track-record of driving revenue growth and profitability.
