In his role, Christian will join the executive management team and lead on shaping the overall business strategy for Onecom, reporting directly to CEO Ben Dowd.
“We’re delighted to welcome Christian to Onecom, he’s highly respected in his field and brings with him a strong track record from Oakley Advisory where he was able to make a significant impact in relatively short order,” said Ben Dowd, CEO of Onecom. “As part of the LDC transaction, he worked closely with Onecom over the last year so he has a good understanding of our business and team. I’m confident that the proven expertise he brings to his new role will make him instrumental to Onecom at a hugely exciting point in our company’s history.”
Prior to this role, Craggs served as managing director at leading independent corporate finance firm Oakley Advisory. During his tenure he was responsible for the origination and execution of M&A, equity and debt fundraisings and IPOs. He specifically focused on mobile, fibre, B2B telecoms and managed service businesses, alongside fast growing companies in the digital and online space.
Before that, he held several senior roles at O2 where he was responsible for B2B strategy and corporate development as well as the sales operations of O2’s B2B business.
Back in July, the company secured a £100m funding package from mid-market private equity firm LDC and credit funds managed by an affiliate of Ares Management corporation. As a result, Onecom is looking to pursue ambitious growth targets and Christian will define Onecom’s M&A strategy as a critical element in achieving those goals.
A month prior to the funding announcement, Onecom entered into ‘the biggest ever’ partner deal with Vodafone UK. Under the agreement, both parties aim to deliver more than £100 million in annual revenue from mobile, fixed line, broadband and IT services, as well as positions Onecom to take advantage of Vodafone’s ambitious growth plans in the B2B market.
