Gtd chose Infinera so that it could deliver resilient, secure, and high-capacity communications services to meet the needs of wholesale, enterprise, as well as residential customers.

By deploying Infinera’s 7300 Multi-haul Transport Platform, mTera Universal Transport Platform, and Transcend software-defined networking (SDN) solution, Gtd is able to offer highly flexible solutions to its existing customers, creating a more efficient network that is SDN-ready, highly scalable, and resilient for local and regional end-user services, including data centre interconnect, private cloud, and high-speed internet access.

For this project, Infinera worked closely with its local partner Raylex to offer the best solution to meet Gtd’s needs.
At the start of the year, Prysmian Group was named builder of the Prat cable system for Gtd. The deal worth approximately €50 million will connect the entire Chilean coastline starting from Arica all the way down to Puerto Montt. The news also marks the first deal to be secured through the groups submarine telecoms division since it was integrated through the acquisition of General Cable.
