The collaboration will enable the delivery of OneWeb’s communications services across Alaska and comes in line with the company’s pledge to bring high-speed internet to the Arctic. OneWeb first made its commitment to the region back in September 2019, delivering 375Gbps of capacity above the 60th parallel North.

Pacific Dataport’s distribution agreement with OneWeb will mean that customers in the Arctic will enjoy OneWeb services as soon as Q4 2020. Alaska’s unique qualities mean that it is a area for economic growth which using OneWeb’s global network will become an enabler of regional initiatives such as the collection of climate data and the growth of its digital economy.
