The added connectivity will enhance Sparkle’s American backbone boosting its Pacific routes, particularly as Curie is the first direct new generation US-Chile cable connecting Los Angeles to Valparaiso.
The new fibre pair on Curie will be fully integrated with Sparkle’s global backbone, increasing redundancy and offering a fourth diversified route to directly connect South and North America.
This new fibre pair on Curies will add to its Sparkle’s 2017 addition of the Seabras-1 cable in the Atlantic.
Together these new connectivity routes, enables Sparkle to offer low latency and robustness through its connectivity service City2City and its global Tier-1 IP transit service Seabone.
In addition, Sparkle is better able to cater to the increasing data demand driven by new technologies, media platforms and cloud-based services, requiring omnipresent internet connectivity.
Earlier this week, the company also launched its new point of presence (PoP) in Casablanca, Morocco.
Located at Orange Maroc open data centre, Sparkle’s PoP will provide corporate communication services to multinational enterprises aiming to expand their business in Morocco.
This latest PoP in Casablanca completes Sparkle’s presence in North Africa, stretching from Egypt to Morocco.
