Verizon partner solutions’ president, Eric Cevis, shares his views on how business leaders need to be involved more than ever before, to support customers and the global community.

Q. How is Verizon Partner Solutions supporting its customers during this unprecedented time in the industry, and in the world?

The way we work, connect, learn, play and live as we know it has fundamentally changed, but one commonality for people around the world is the need for a reliable, powerful network to stay connected. And, as we all continue to navigate this unprecedented time, Verizon continues to work closely with our customers around the world to support their business needs. We’re here. And, we’re ready.

Navigating these new horizons together with our customers around the world, requires businesses of all sizes, to prepare for a future filled with many unknowns while at the same time trying to keep operations running as smoothly as possible -- rethinking their digital infrastructure, collaboration tools, security and the ability to troubleshoot from afar. Verizon Partner Solutions is committed to finding the best solutions possible.

As we move further into the digital future, Verizon is focused on building tomorrow with the best of today. I hope all of our customers, and community members around the world, are finding ways to stay safe and take good care of themselves, their families, their extended network of friends, colleagues and communities.

Q. Many businesses may believe that being a part of a global business community requires business leaders to be involved more than ever before. Will you please describe your role in the Global Leader Forum?

Certainly. I joined the Global Leaders Forum (GLF), as the Verizon representative and participated in the meeting in London at Capacity Europe. The GLF is an organization with thirty-two members from leading providers across the globe. They have established industry level initiatives such as Blockchain, Fraud, Security and Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging.

Also, Verizon has participated as a product leader on the sub-committee for Blockchain as suppliers and standards are being established for the industry to embrace. A white paper recently was produced that documents software stacks and additional carrier services that could be available on CBAN in the future (billing, account receivables, other use cases to be determined).

Addressing fraud has been a focus for Verizon and others for some time now. The GLF took it on across the industry to have global providers to agree on reducing robocalling by working together to develop a universal blocking tool and include language in contracts.

Security has also been a focus about which we are all very aware. Delivering a secure network is something that Verizon is very proud of. The GLF has a subcommittee focused on what can be done here. For example, there is the potential for a shared platform that gives visibility across a network. This ties into work being done with the MEF - more to come here.

For Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, we at Verizon know that it is more than the right thing to do. It is good business. Companies that integrate diversity in their teams and diversity of thought into their business are more successful as a whole.

Q. How is Verizon Partner Solutions delivering the promise of the digital world?

Verizon delivers the promise of the digital world by enabling people, businesses and society to innovate and drive positive change. We are not only an industry leader, but a part of society -- whether it be donating laptops to schools in need, or connecting the United States Navy hospital ship Comfort in NYC -- Verizon continuously works with global communities in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Our main areas of focus are Network Investment, Portfolio Expansion, Digital Transformation and Security. We continue to invest and expand the markets we provide service to across the US, and leverage our network investments to deliver more services to our customers. We will continue to bring new enhanced solutions to market to increase offerings that connect our customers to the digital world. We also continue to strengthen our product portfolio and our programs to better enable sustainable business growth.

For Digital Transformation, customer experience is always a priority for us. Our Verizon Partner Solutions Exchange platform is transforming the customer experience with new APIs and tools to simplify customer interactions. This roadmap is essential for our mutual success in the industry. The three tenets of this transformation are simplification, modernization and giving more control to customers, which will ultimately equip all stakeholders for success.

Our technology makes a pathway to enable all to innovate and drive positive change, and the Verizon Brand is based on trust and innovation. We strive to change customers’ lives for the better. And of course, this evolution is all being built on a foundation of network reliability.
