The firm’s first MD of business has been named as Mike Tomlinson (pictured), who previously held senior roles with EE, Virgin and BT, most recently advising tech and telecoms firms on the broader B2B market.
Robert Finnegan, CEO of Three UK, said: “Our business division will be a key focus area for the company and Mike’s appointment is critical to helping us develop a leading position in the market. Mike has been in the industry a long time and has the knowledge and skillset to build on the strong foundations from our Three Means Business launch last year.”
Now tasked with scaling Three’s business division, Tomlinson, who started the role last month, is leading the strategic development and launch of a full suite of products for all segments of the B2B market, including SME and large corporate. As well as building on its SME offer announced in 2019, Three said this work would support its established private networks division and its investments of more than £2 billion, which are intended to create “modern and innovative solutions” for networks.
Tomlinson added: “I’m delighted to be joining Three and I’m excited by the opportunity to scale our growing business division at a time when Three is making significant investments in network, technology and customer experience.”
Three has also expanded the role of director of MVNO and carrier services for Three UK and Three Ireland and appointed John Dunican to the position.
Dunican will be responsible driving the strategy and commercial performance of Three’s MVNO, wholesale roaming, interconnect and messaging businesses across both territories.
He has more than 15 years of telecoms experience having joined Telefonica O2 Ireland in 2004, and has worked in a number of roles across wholesale, product management and business strategy. He took on his current dual UK and Ireland role in June 2020 having been head of wholesale at Three Ireland since January 2017.
