Reporting directly to chief executive officer, Bruce McClelland, Matthews will be responsible for leading Ribbon’s business development and strategy activities.

Prior to joining Ribbon, Matthews served as chief transformation officer and executive vice president of strategy and corporate development at TiVo.
Before TiVo (then Rovi Corporation), he served as senior vice president of strategy and corporate development for ARRIS Group after ARRIS acquired Motorola Mobility’s Home business from Google.
Earlier in his career Matthews worked as vice president of convergence strategy for Motorola Mobility and in various roles at Motorola., including vice president of home and networks strategy, and business manager of optical transport products.

In September, former Nokia executive Sam Bucci was appointed to a newly created role of executive vice president and GM of packet optical networks at Ribbon Communications.
