With over 30 years’ experience across various business groups and locations, Jo will lead the strategic growth of Samsung Electronics in Southeast Asia & Oceania. Specifically, he will facilitate partnerships, create operational excellence, and ultimately, building brand trust amongst consumers and enterprises.
Prior to his appointment, Jo served as president and CEO for Samsung Electronics in Europe, which under his leadership achieved sustainable commercial growth and strong brand recognition in 2020.
Before this, he also served as president of Samsung Electronics Germany in 2019, president of Samsung Electronics United Kingdom between 2015 – 2017, president of Samsung Electronics Sweden between 2012 – 2014, president of Samsung Electronics Austria in 2011, president of Samsung Electronics Baltic countries between 2009 – 2010, and he also served as Head of Visual Display business for Samsung Europe based in South Korea from 2017 – 2018.
This is also not Jo’s first introduction to the Southeast Asia region having held positions with Samsung Electronics Singapore in 1997, Vietnam from 1998 – 2000 and Malaysia from 2007 – 2008.
