Under the multi-year, multi transponder agreement, Liquid Telecom will further leverage the unparalleled coverage of Sub-Saharan Africa of the 7° East orbital position to extend its VSAT services. By working together to further strengthen our ties, we can ensure that the combination of Eutelsat’s satellite coverages of Sub-Saharan Africa and Liquid Telecom’s unrivalled expertise in the VSAT market can deliver the highest possible service levels to Liquid’s customers throughout the continent”.

BT selects tech partners to achieve "net zero" target

BT is partnering with "scale-up" tech companies to help it deliver on its net zero emissions target.

iOpt, an IoT company based in Glasgow, and Everimpact, a company specialising in climate monitoring based in Paris, have been recruited to develop new joint products and services aimed at helping BT's public sector customers to "drive a green recovery" to the pandemic.

Working with Plug and Play, the innovation platform headquartered in Silicon Valley, BT selected the scale-ups via its Green Tech Innovation Platform, announced last year.

BT said it will help iOpt and Everimpact to "accelerate their growth by offering their products to local councils across the UK who are looking to adopt environmental monitoring and smart building solutions".

Dean Terry, MD Corporate and Public Sector at BT, said: “As the world looks to recover from the current health and economic crisis caused by Covid-19, we have an opportunity to accelerate the transition to a greener society, working in partnership with Government, business and society as they look at how they need to adapt and change their business models in the evolving digital world.

RCS upgrade for Syniverse

“The Syniverse RCS P2P hub continues to elevate our messaging capabilities,” said John McRae, president of carrier, Syniverse. “After undergoing thorough testing and proof of concepts, the Syniverse RCS P2P hub is live and actively empowering mobile operators to exceed their customers’ mobile messaging expectations.”

Over the last year Syniverse has been handling an average of more than 400 million messages a day, and the figure has continued to grow: the Syniverse RCS P2P hub enables more than 250 million subscribers reach to more than 200 countries with more connections planned for 2021.

As standard text messaging (SMS) evolves into 5G powered RCS messaging, the Syniverse said its RCS P2P hub offers "unparalleled interoperability", which by coupling with Global ENUM, allows mobile operators to "intelligently route RCS services and VoLTE traffic with confidence of secure message delivery".
